Pastor Dick Witherow sees convicted sex offenders as America's modern day lepers. After years of leading addiction counseling in prisons, Witherow began focusing on sex offenders in Florida. The state was one of the first to greatly restrict where convicted sex offenders could live after serving jail time, leaving many offenders homeless and without options. Witherow now offers refuge and a new start at Miracle Park, a community made up almost entirely of sex offenders.
In a rural area of Palm Beach county, the pastor ministers to his flock and offers them anger-management classes and relationship classes, NPR reports.
